    3. I found it quite curious that the Document from Orange County, NC ..........wills of records from 1752-1800 and also 1800 -1850 show in March 20 1775,Shrewood PARISH [sic sp], James DICKINGS, and Sherwood JAMES as witnesses to the will of Joseph SUTTON and the estate being proved in favor of Daniel HUGHES, oldest son of Gabriel HUGHES, for love and good will. Gabriel HUGHES executor of will and he is to keep estate in hand until Daniel HUGHES arrives at 21 years of age. [Apparently the father of Daniel is Gabriel and he is under majority in 1775 so his father, said Gabriel is executor and holder of estate until said Daniel reaches age of 21. Perhaps Joseph SUTTON is a relation of or a close friend of the HUGHES family]. August 1793 a Quit-claim-deed from Josua HORN to Jesse JAMES, this Jesse was spouse of {likely the daughter of Joshua HORN} Betsey HORNE. This indicates to me that the family of Sherwood JAMES and Jesse JAMES were in some kind of proximity between 1775 and 1793 unless one or both of them moved elsewhere and out of Orange County boundaries by 1793; perhaps shifts of political control and county governments. __________________ Linda M.
