    3. Seeing references to George James, reminds me that I haven't posted regarding another George. Since I have been unsuccessful to this point with much on this line, I thought I would give my George a shot. Here's what I know: George JAMES, b. ca. 1840 in LaPorte Co. Indiana to William & Elizabeth (Betsy) JOHNSON JAMES. His siblings were Sarah Ann JAMES TITUS; Ruth(a) JAMES TITUS LONG-both girls married in Holt County, MO; Samuel, Hiram, and perhaps Hannah about whom I know nothing. George is listed on school enumeration records in Indiana in the 1840's and appears with his parents & siblings on the 1850 LaPorte Co Census. I presume he came with his mother to Holt County, Missouri when she arrived in the early 1850's. No record of his father or other siblings after 1850. He is believed to have married an Anna PERKINS in either Buchanan or Holt Co, Missouri. He served in the Civil War as I have a very faded picture of him in uniform...I don't recognize if it is Union or Confederate and the George JAMESes are numerous in Missouri CW records. Does this guy appear in anyone's records? Thanks for your help. Merri
