    3. Hi Cousins! Sorry, to ask this, but I'm coming in cold. Could someone please send me a shortened version of which JAMES lines are being tested, where they were located or migrated from, and if there's been any matches. I used to be subbed to this list. Then, it got quiet. About a week ago, I realized that somehow I'd been unsubbed or dropped off all but 3 of my lists. I just started receiving James List messages day before yesterday. I would really appreciate this. I'm a direct descendent of Columbus "Lum" James of Pike Co., KY. (my gt grandfather), b.abt 1846 NC, d.????. His son was Estil James of Pike (my grandfather) b.March 1874, d.1957 Pike. Estil's mother's was Rachel Overby, b.1855 NC, d1882, Pike Co.. His stepmother's name was Kizzie ?, b. 1830 NC, d.????. She was living in Pike with Lum in the 1880 census, marked as 50 yrs old, widowed. Other than a Sept. 1870 marriage bond in Pike Co., I have no other records of Lum either before or after the 1880 census. However, family knows him to have lived close to Pike Co. until at least 1890, when Estil was 16 yrs old. Since there is no 1890 census, there are no others records of him. Lum's father is unknown. There's not even a family comment or hint to follow. I do know Lum had a brother John. He lived in Virginia somewhere. We have no idea if he was older or younger than Lum. We believe younger because he visited from Va. until my mother was 7 or 8 yrs old. So he lived at least until 1920 or so. I'd sure be interested in what's been learned so far, as to migrated, areas where they lived, etc. Thanks so much Glenna ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gwen Boyer Bjorkman" <gwenbj@seanet.com> To: <JAMES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 17, 2006 9:06 PM Subject: [JAMES-L] RE: New DNA Test Results Posted for a Group Member in Group James > We have the 37 marker results back for Thomas Dwain James tonight and he > does not match anyone in > the James DNA test. 3. Hi Glenna: Sorry I forgot to give you the website address. All of the James who have been tested are there and the ones waiting for their tests to be completed. http://www.jamesdna.net My guess is that you will be related to the Floyd Co, KY James family. That is Lucy DeYoung's family that we were talking about in the message below. Her e-mail address was in the family line, so please write to her. Did you check her website? But if your Columbus James was b. in NC in 1846, then there are a lot of family lines from NC. If you have a male James cousin that can join the DNA test that would be great because then you can find out who you are related to. 3. Hello! I am looking for the ancestors of: William S. Radford, son of Reuben and Elizabeth Hackworth, b. 26 June 1782 was married three times. Reuben Radford, b. 21 April 1805 m. Sarah Wilbanks (Named for William's father) 2. Elisha Radford, b. 26 Oct 1806 m. Mary Ross 3. Elizabeth Radford, b. 1 May 1809 m. John Smith 4. Susannah (Susan) Radford, b. 29 Mar 1812 m. George Hanson 5. John William Radford, b. 8 May 1815 6. Mary Ann Jessy (Polly) Radford, b. 19 Nov 1816; m. Matthew Russell 7. Temperance (Tempy) Radford, b. 12 May 1818; m. William Harbour In the 1800 Oglethorpe Co., GA Census, there is listed: John James 1 M-10 1 M 24 - 45 4 F - 10 1 F 26 - 45 He could be the father of Nancy Elizabeth James who married William Radford in Oglethorpe Co. in 1804 but she does not fit the age category as she was born in 1783. She could have been living elsewhere at the time of Census. Or John James could have been her brother. Do any of these people look familiar to you? Thank you! 3. Hi Gwen, I suspect Glenna is not related to the Floyd County Jameses. Samuel James moved to Floyd County from NC in 1810. Glenna's Columbus James was born in NC in 1846. In addition, I don't have any of her names in my data base. Sorry, Lucy -----Original Message----- From: Gwen Boyer Bjorkman [mailto:gwenbj@seanet.com] Sent: Saturday, February 18, 2006 1:00 PM To: JAMES-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [JAMES-L] RE: New DNA Test Results Posted for a Group Member in Group James Hi Glenna: Sorry I forgot to give you the website address.
