I just want to stress to everyone how valuable these DNA tests are--not just for JAMES, but all surnames. Even with solid research, mistakes can be made, and you may think your research is correct, but as we see here in these two recent surprising test results, our research can be less than perfect!! It is especially difficult for the JAMES families of PA--many of them lived close to each other, had similar first names, came from the same country, and went to the same church. Yet, they are not all related to each other, as these DNA results are now proving. It's easy to think one man is your ancestor, when in fact it's the other man, with the same name, living nearby, who is your real ancestor. I again would like to encourage everyone to participate in these DNA projects. If you're thinking you don't want to spend the money-- just remember how much you may have already spent putting together the line in the first place--wouldn't you like the peace of mind knowing you have your line correct? Or even to know that it's incorrect--before you take that big trip back to where your "ancestors" (who aren't really your ancestors) came from? Just some food for thought.
