If you are looking in the southeastern belt for history or family ancestors I would recommend checking the Guilford College Library in Greensboro, North Carolina for their Quaker Collection material. There are over 6,000 manuscripts from monthly meetings from East Tennessee, Georgia, and south Carolina which affiliated with the North Carolina meetings. also recommended in my reading list is the Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, vol. 1. published by Genealogical Publishing Co. The Quakers kept very good records and where records were lost in fire or war, they may mean the difference in your search. The Quakers were in North Carolina at least as early ads 1672 according to my reading, with the arrival and travels of George Fox and William Edmundson. Linda
