Kathy, I wonder if your John Levi James could be a descendent of Howell James, who first settled in Radnor, Chester county, PA, but died in Delaware (once part of PA) in 1717. I have not traced Howell's line as far down as 1790, because I'm not even sure I'm related to Howell James! Do you know where in Delaware your John Levi James lived? Howell James and several of his sons lived in Newcastle county, DE.
