The earliest James ancestor I have found is John JAMES, abt 1810- abt 1865 Born abt 1810 probably in Virginia, maybe North Carolina. John James is listed as a pioneer family in the book "The First 100 Years, a short History of Cobb County, in Georgia." Also found in 1834 Georgia state census in Cobb Co. Found in 1830, 1840 & 1850 census in Cobb Co., Georgia. Found in 1860 census in Cherokee Co., Georgia. Wife found in 1870 census in Cherokee Co., Georgia, so he probably died between 1860 and 1870. Wife- Sarah A. -?-. Children- John W., Martha, Frances, Harriett, Elizabeth, Emma and Asberry. My line from John is as follows: John W. JAMES, 1828-30 GA- ??, wife- Sarah ?? Ezra JAMES, 1853 GA-abt. 1920, Baylor Co. TX, wife Carry Chandler then Regina ?? Patmon JAMES, 1884 GA or AR-1974, Arkansas Co., AR, wife Ethel Carter then Macy ?? Many thanks for any help.
