I'm searching for William Atlee JAMES, Jr., b. Mar 4, 1831, possibly Greenville, Mercer Co., PA. He may have been born in Cherry Tree, Indiana Co., PA. One of his younger siblings is known to have been born in Cherry Tree. His father, William Atlee JAMES, Sr., was a mens tailor in the Pittsburgh area during a part of his life. William, Jr., mother was Mary Elizabeth McCarty of Greenville. William moved west to Iowa, but I don't know when or why. Married Rebecca LEMAR, April 13, 1850, Mt. Vernon, Iowa. They had five children, names not known, probably in the Mt. Vernon, IA area. 2nd marriage to unknown wife. They had three children, Emma, Charles & Clara. I'm guessing they were also in the Mt. Vernon, IA area. Mt. Vernon is near the city of Cedar Rapids, Linn County, IA. If any one can recognize this family, I will appreciate a reply.
