Since before I was born my James line and my Williams line have held family reunions every year. Every year they compiled what information they could from these reunions and family members interested in our history. After this information is compiled, each family member who wants a copy sends their money to Mrs. Francis Nelson and she makes a copy for them. The James family book has not been compiled since 1980 because the family members that were doing it have gotten older and some have passed away. The Williams family book has been compiled a little longer but again family members that were doing it are older. After you recieve your first book, they mail out new information to be added each year. I doubt if any of these books are still available to even new family members who want one, unless one of us is willing to make a copy of ours. Which I am willing to do, if I can do it properly without destroying my book. The book is beginning to yellow on the James family book. My Williams family book I have put into protective plastic but had to pull the book apart to do it. I did donate one Williams book to the Hendersonville Genealogical Society and allowed them to copy my James family book. They now have a copy on their shelves. I am trying to keep these books going but its taking me awhile as although they have great biographis and history written by each family member, they do not show actual birth, death, marriage, census records. I would like to make them as accurate as possible. Also, some names were misspelled or speeled diferently in two different places. Including my daughters name. they do have pictures in the Williams family book but under my brothers family they put my other brothers name and his family. So there are mistakes. It does cost to get accurate documentation and I am not a rich person so it will take me a very long time. I figure I have about 1700 names.
