Samuel James, son of the first Evan, was born about 1750. Married Hannah Smith, settling where Philadelphia now stand, afterwards found his land to be a soldiers claim, relinquishing this one, he resettled on a farm in Washington County, PA. Afterwards moving on a farm in Jefferson County, Ohio, where he died. His wife living to be about 85 years of age, Samuel dying some fifteen years before she did. Their children's names were Joshua, Evan James II, Samuel, George, Nancy, and Magaret. All born in Washington County, PA except Joshua. Samuel and Margarets husband (Wm. Pugh) died of fever about 1820. George moved to Gurnsey County, Ohio about 1840. Nancy married Thomas Smith, settling near Chesterfield, Ohio. Pat North Carolina
