Hi Cathy and list, Our family story is that we are related thru Pleasant and Annie James of TN, He did have a son named Jessy who lived in the area (Mills County, TX) for awhile. As far as I can tell, he was not wanted by the law. I can not verify the Great Grandmother Adeline Pace James was missing part of her arm or how she lost it but feel pretty certain it was not shot off by Pinkerton Men as the family story goes. I wrote the editor of the mag and he has given me permission to put this page on line about the article and he is going to try and have Betty Duke contact me. James is not in our direct line but married into it several times that I always watch for any information on them.
