My elusive GG-Grandmother was Ailey Caroline James. She was called Caroline. She was born 1838 Buchanan County, Missouri and might have died around 1883 place unknown. Her mother name "might" have been Barbara born 1810 Tennessee. Ailey Caroline James married to my GG-Grandfather Silas Kernes/Kerns February 4, 1855 Buchanan Co. Missouri. Her second marriage was to Joseph Murphy on March 2, 1859 Buchanan Co. Missouri.
