Just today I discovered the maiden name of my grandfather's stepmom who raised him from age 9: Maudie Lee GOAD, b. July 10, 1882, McCracken Co., KY, d. May 10, 1951. She married John Lacy JAMES abt. 1925. He already had two children from previous marriage to Eunice (?) who died 1923. The children were Myron JAMES and John Edward JAMES. John Edward was seven when his mother died, and, two years later his father married Maudie Lee GOAD. She raised the boys and eventually married again to (?) McKinney and had at least one other child named Lee. She was a member of the New Hope Cumberland Presbyrterian Church and a housewife. Any info on this GOAD family is appreciated.
