Hi all. My line is almost the same as that of Jennifer James Taylor. I am a desc of John James and Mary Pierce of Anson Co and Richmond Co NC through we BELIEVE their son PHILLIP b 19 Apr 1771 who married Phebe Long. Phillip was the elder brother of Israel. However, it is POSSIBLE but not LIKELY that I am a desc of the 2nd child JOHN born 4 Dec 1773 who married Mary Snead. This line of James came from Liverpool and Wiltshire in England and has the following specifics that we have located: Roger James "of Yonger" married Alice Marks in 1632 in West Lavington, Wiltshire Roger James II chr 18 May 1646 at West Lavington, Wiltshire is supposed to have married Anne Mercer c 1680 and had these children: Jane, Eleanor, JOHN John James bapt 18 Feb 1692 Liverpool England at St Nicholas, the "Mariner's Church" m ?? John James II born c1708, referred to as "of Hill", married Isabel Moon 14 July 1722 at St Nicholas, her father Robert Moon John James IIIchr 12 Nov 1729 at Kirkby Ireleth, Lancashire came to US. His father was a sea merchant. The story is he ran away from his father's ship in Baltimore MD and was indentured to a VA planter as a "lost boy" (I have not yet located this record). He later went to NC to the area of Anson Co. He has a deed with a wife named TOBYTHA, later said to have married Roseann MARTIN though I have found no documentation, and his wife at his death was LEAH He died 1800 (will) Richmond Co NC. Children: John, James, Phillip, Elizabeth. JOHN IV born 1750 died (will) 1794 Richmond Co NC m Mary Pierce c1770 (no doc.) He was a Capt in Washington Dist NC forces in RW. Census records from NC and MS are EXACT FIT for these 4 brothers dates of birth...these 4 eventually all ended up in JASPER CO MS... 1. John James SR b 1792 m Nancy maiden unk died 1865 Jasper Co MS Served in War of 1812, got bounty land in Jasper. Lived in TN for a bit also. Bounty land claim states from RICHMOND CO NC children: a. ROBERT W (my line) b c1832 in TN married #1 Nancy and had Mary E, John, Jesse Columbus, Rebecca married #2 Elizabeth Vaughn Bunch, had EDGAR LEE JAMES b 18 Apr 1874 2. Robert James SR (s/o Phillip and Phebe) born c 1795 NC m Mary, siad to be OVERSTREET children (from census): Wm, Mary, Clement, Ransom Jones, Mary Anne, Harry or Henry, Robt Hicks 3. Phillip H James (s/o Phil and phebe) born c 1802 NC m Sarah (Edmondson?) children: Champness Pierce, Nathaniel, Sarah, Thomas HInes, poss more 4.
