Hi: I am new to the List and new to the process. My search is very basic. I need information about my father, Charles James, married to my mother Marian Pruitt. They did live in Washington DC but I do not know for how long. I have some info which is not necessarily reliable, that Charles James could have come from Ohio and that for a time he worked at Freedmen's Hospital in Washington, DC. This has since been torn down. My mother, Marian Pruitt was born in Georgia and before marriage lived with an older sister and her father in Philadelphia. I have no idea how or where my father and mother met, nor where they married. "There is some possibility that my father or his brother, if he had on, served in the army during WWI in the 812th Pioneer Infantry, Camp Grant Illinois.
