Hi, Is anyone researching the James family of Clermont Co., OH, or does anyone have any JAMES in nearby counties such as Warren, Hamilton, or Brown in Ohio? I found Joseph JAMES in the 1820 Clermont Co. property owner's list. I am trying to find the family of Abel JAMES b. Abt. 1812 MD (1850 census) or PA (daughter's death certificate). (I have come across a JAMES family in Baltimore during the 1700's that uses the name "Abel" quite a bit) married Martha LEEDT b. Clermont Co., OH d. July 29, 1849 Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH Their children: Anna Maria married George Washington COX, lived in Pleasant Ridge, Hamilton Co., OH Rebecca C. married Henry SWIFT b. England Sarah and Mary, twins Joseph born and died on July 29, 1849 Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH Since this last baby was the only male, and he was named Joseph (could be Abel's father's name), when I came across a Joseph JAMES in nearby Clermont Co.
