The long awaited DNA results have arrived for Steven Glen James. Steven does not know his grandfather's name and he was looking in the DNA for some clues to find him. Unfortunately, he does not match any other James in the James group. Steven has his "setup preferences" set to match the whole database and not just the James project and he does not match anyone in the whole database. On his page for "Recent Ethnic Origins" it says that he does have 18 one marker mutation matches and they are all from England, Ireland and Scotland. I don't know why those one marker mutations don't show up on his Y-DNA matches page. We will hope that there will be someone in a later James test that will match Steven. Hi James Group: Just to let you all know that batch number 120 went to the Lab today so that means that the 12 marker Y-DNA results for Joe and Richard are due back on Oct 22 and then the 25 markers for Joe on Oct 28. I have no idea what the HVR1&2 are that Fred is waiting for. You will have to explain that one to us. We should have Steven's test back by the end of the month and the last time I heard from him he was moving from Alaska to Siberia!! I hope his e-mail address did not change. Hi James Group: After the excitement of getting back the two new tests this week, I wanted to let you know where we stand. This is what I have for family lines of tests that have not yet received their results. I want you to notice that I do not have a family line for Richard or William Russell. Please send your family lines. There are two tests that have not yet been returned to the Lab. Please, please return your tests!!! There are still a lot of good results to be reported and I know we are all interested in getting as many men as possible tested. We welcome any new men to join in the James DNA test. Hi all of you James family researchers. We just got the 12 DNA markers back for Lee James. He is an exact match to Warren James and a one mutation match with Gene James. Warren received his 25 marker test results and is still just that one mutation match with Gene and now also with Lee. This family is taking shape and seems to be very well proven by their research. INMAN 16 JULY 1841 Jim's Ahnentafel report gives the 6 children of Charles INMAN and unknown. Charles died 30 October 1832 in Laconia, Harrison, Indiana and is buried in Old Goshen Baptist Church, Boone, Harrison, Indiana. Dates and locations are provided for some of Amelia's siblings.- I have JAMES in Wabash and Fulton Counties in Indiana around that time period. I will look in my records later this weekend and see if there is a Thomas at the same time period. Be sure that you get the entire web addresses above. I am getting used to my new mail program and can't tell what it looks like outside of the "box." Sue James SMITH
I was wondering if anyone out there knows any information on a Thomas James. He married Amelia B. Inman in Harrison County, IN on June 16, 1841. Does anyone know who Amelia's parents were? Thanks, Sharon

Hi Sondra: We have a Lee James who has his DNA test at the Lab right now and he has a Loudoun Co, VA connection in his line. See our website at: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/james/ Susan Rosine has the same family and I know she has talked about a Loudoun Co, VA connection. I hope that you have a James cousin who can be DNA tested. That way we can determine if there is a relationship with this David James family. We are getting quite a group represented from the Chester Co, PA James family and we should be getting some good matches. Thank you to everyone who replied to me when I asked if there was a problem with Rootsweb as I was not receiving messages. I had resubscribed to all my mailing lists after returning from holiday and for several days received my usual 40 - 50 messages a day. They then all stopped for 3 days & I received nothing from any of my mailing lists (Even if I had received mail from only one list I would not have been concerned.) I checked my Rootsweb information as several people suggested I may have been unsubscribed for some reason, and all confirmed as being still subscribed. Now for some reason I am receiving messages again!!! So thank you again to all those people who emailed me. I really appreciated your input. Marilyn McMillan (Wellington, NZ
We received upgrades from 12 markers to 25 markers for the James DNA tests of three different James men today. So be sure and check our James DNA website to see how the tests now compare. We really want to recruit a proven descendant of the Jesse James family to be tested. We are doing great with the Pennsylvania James family lines and we do have a match and one more test on order. We hope to have many more of you join in the test so that we can match up the many different James family lines. http://www.familytreedna.com/public/james/ N1877 Jerry Alvin James (William James of ???)
