    3. The story in my James family (which has never been proven or disproven), is that when the English insisted that the Welsh take surnames, the people of the village where my ancestor lived (unfortunately I don't know where that was!!) decided to do just that-- and they all took the last name of JAMES!! Knowing how fond the Welsh were of the English at that time in history (and perhaps still today), this story would not surprise me if it turned out to be true. 3. Good Morning James List: We have new 12 marker results this morning for Randy Clark James. He is an exact match for Richard Dale, Doyle Roland and Benny Ray James. Randy needs to extend his markers to see if the match will continue. We see here that when Benny extended his test to 37 markers, he no longer matched Doyle. But we do see a relationship here and it needs to be confirmed with some genealogical research. This is certainly a good first 12 marker match for Randy James. Ahijah I. 3. Hi James List: After long last we have received the full 25 markers for James Francis James! We thought for sure this Abner James from Lancaster Co, PA would match some of the others Chester Co or Bucks Co James, but no, he is a totally unique branch of the James family. I know we are all beginning to realize just how many men took the name James for a surname. We were just talking about the Welch naming patterns on the Chester Co, PA List, using the Patronyms where you would have James ap James, which means James the son of James. So there would have been many men who would have decided on James for their surname, but they would not be related to very many other men who also took the same name. We will look forward to finding some matches for James in the future. We hope that many more men will sign on for the James DNA test. We now have 60 members in our group. 3. Looking for anyone who has a "Jimma"/"Jimmy"/ James JAMES who had a wife named Phebe enumerated as Phebe", "Feba" who was about 7 years younger. She was "French Canadian" but could also be of English parentage but from Canada West. Setting in Iowa, Kossuth County and/or township area of "Kossuth" including place name of Wisley/Wesley circa 1875 or 1880's until James died and/or disappears. Other surnames involved in this research of this family are DONALDSON, KENDALL, and STOLL or STOWELL. Places of all families origins seem to be the Great Lakes areas and the easy access of border crossings from the Canadian Provinces. Family exchanges of residences in the north eastern and mid-border areas of Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin and down to Kossuth County in Iowa. From Iowa the family seemed to move to Fillmore County, Winneshiek County, and Ramsey County, in Minnesota. 20th Century male line: Glen W. JAMES born in Wisconsin. Phebe DONALDSON married James JAMES. Had sons Herbert, Richard, George, and Russell. As far as I have found to date, only Herbert married. Richard died single in Minnesota and the mother died there also. Would like to hear from anyone who might have some ideas on these people. Regards and Thank You, Linda

    3. Thanks Linda, for posting those Tennessee marriage records. We believe that those two marriages in Carter Co. TN are children of Rollings James who has a great Rev War pension record telling that he was born in Maryland. We would love to see someone from this family join the James DNA test. I rather suspect that two of our participants may be either from the family of Rollings James or Joseph Rogers James as they were both together in Burke Co, NC when they joined the army. Here is the family that I have constructed for Rollings James, but I am sure it is not complete. Any help on this family would be appreciated. 1. Rollings1 JAMES, was born in MD ca 1762. He died ca 1840 in Campbell, TN. He married Ellen BOWLES? ca 1782. She was born ca 1762. Rollings JAMES and Ellen BOWLES? had the following children: 2 i. Frances2 JAMES was born in VA ca 1783. She died ca 1863 in Twin Twp, Darke, OH. She married Richard BALLARD ca 1800 in Burke, NC. He was born ca 1781 in VA. He died ca 1848 in Darke, OH. 3 ii. Rachel JAMES was born ca 1788. She married Walter EVANS 21 Nov 1808 in Carter, TN. He was born ca 1788. 4 iii. William JAMES was born bef 1792. He married Nancy PIERCE or PRICE 1812 in Carter, TN. She was born bef 1792. 5 iv. 1. Y-DNA on Jesse James, the outlaw
    2. Sarah Jane Mckenzie
    3. I've been reading some one the DNA study on Jesse James. I understand that the DNA proves that the man buried was kin to Jesse James' mother. I saw "Jesse James: Fact or Fiction" on the History Channel today. It seems that the body is that of Jesse James so have they done a Y-DNA test to see if that line has other matches? I am new to DNA -genealogy. Thanks! jane

    3. HI Lists, Did any of you catch the name of Beal JAMES in the census posting by Rose Kinney? It is curious to think about because of the JAMES/BEAL marriage in Virginia (hope I recalled that correctly!)...........and also the surname BEAL is interchangeable with BAIL, BAILER and BAILERT. Think on it!

    3. Here are the 67 markers for Thomas Malcolm James. So now we can compare the 67 markers for Thomas and David and Doyle. They are certainly three different James families. Doyle and David are closer both being from the Haplogroup R1b1. We will look forward to the explanation from the FTDNATiP when it is ready. We had two new James DNA tests ordered this week and we will look forward to seeing those new results in the future. We would encourage any other men with the last name James to join our James DNA test. We now have 60 men in the group that you can compare DNA with. 44611 Thomas Malcolm James I 13 22 14 10 13 14 11 14 11 12 11 28 15 8 9 8 12 23 16 20 28 12 14 15 15 10 10 19 21 14 14 17 19 36 38 12 10 11 8 15 15 8 11 10 8 9 9 12 23 25 16 10 12 12 15 8 14 24 20 13 13 11 13 11 11 12 11 24887 David Mitchell James R1b1 13 24 14 11 11 13 12 12 13 13 13 29 17 9 10 11 11 25 14 18 30 15 15 17 17 10 10 19 23 12 15 18 17 36 39 12 11 11 9 15 16 8 10 10 8 10 10 12 20 21 16 10 12 12 15 8 12 22 20 15 12 11 13 10 11 11 12 25727 Doyle Roland James R1b1 13 24 14 11 11 14 12 12 12 13 13 29 16 9 9 11 11 25 15 19 31 15 15 17 17 10 11 19 23 16 16 19 17 37 40 11 12 11 9 15 16 8 10 11 8 10 10 12 21 21 16 10 12 12 14 8 11 24 20 14 12 11 13 10 11 12 12 Gwen Boyer Bjorkman gwenbj@seanet.com -----Original Message----- From: info@familytreedna.com [mailto:info@familytreedna.com] Sent: Thursday, June 22, 2006 6:39 AM To: jamesdm49@aol.com; gwenbj@seanet.com Subject: New DNA Test Results Posted for a Group Member in Group James New Y-DNA37-67 results have been posted for Kit 44611, a member of your Family Tree DNA James group.
