    3. I am seeking information about Catherine James who married Joseph Holtzclaw in Fauquier County, VA. I would like to know her parent's names. Joseph was b. 1735-40 in Fauquier Co., but I do not have a birthdate for Catherine. B.C. Holtzclaw believed she died in 1810, because she is not shown on the tax lists after that. I do not have their marriage date, but B.C. lists their first child as being born in 1764. Peter Hitt, Jr. married a Sarah James in the same county about the time period so I wondered if they could be sisters. Thank you for any information or help. Sharon Lloyd

    2. Ann E. Friddle-Boone
    3. Hi Folks, I've been reading all of your messages, but no one seems to be anywhere near my James', but David Payne. So, I'm going to throw my James' at you again and see what happens. I'm beginning to think our earliest James came into being by "spontaneous combustion"!! The earliest James was named Fielding and in the 1820 census of Pendleton District, Anderson County, SC, he is listed as 45+ in age. He is supposed to have come from Virginia and married Rhoda Durham either there or here. Only two children are known, our ancestor, John "Jack" James born about 1801 in SC and died after 1880 and married Rachel Kelly of Belton,Anderson Co.,SC. The other child was Patty who married Mack Loveland. These families remained in the Anderson County area. Does anyone have a Fielding? Or does anyone have any info on David Paynes Griffith James' sons who might be a possible father for our Fielding or even Fielding himself with another first name and Fielding a middle name? Please, everyone search your files and give our Fielding some parents!! Thanks, Ann and Ken(ggggrandson of Fielding)

    3. Gerald and Jennifer, The reason I ask what you might have on Elijah is to compare with what I have. Actually I have quite a bit on him including his wife, children etc. He is my direct line. My line continues with his son Mahlon who had a son named William (my ggggrandfather). I will post the information for you and the James list but it will take several posting probably in order to include all the descendants that I do have. What I desire to find is what boat they came on in 1745 to DE and if they are related to all the other James of Pembrokeshire. Also how do I find them in Wales before they came here? Valerie

    3. Gerald and Jennifer I have the marriage of Joseph James son of the Joseph b:1745 Joseph Jr. married Rebeccah Garrett in 1809. That is all I have for right now.. I may have more when I finish trying to read some handwritten information given to me later on. I will try to work on it asap but am staring a new job this Monday. Gerald is this your line of James? If so who are you descended from? I would like to know what you have on Elijah if you don't mind sharing. I have quite a bit on this family but bits and pieces are not completed. Hi Ann, Ken. Know the feeling on frustration. Anyhow, I found an interesting coincidence searching for your Fielding. I found .4. William Fielding Withers1848, son of "Gielding" Withers1800 who married into the John James1750 line. Could have been a typo for Gielding? To name their son Fielding? In any case, you asked for all possibles, so here is my closest match. This data come from cousin Shirley Norton.
