    1. [JAMES-L] Search
    2. Charles A James
    3. Hi: I am new to the List and new to the process. My search is very basic. I need information about my father, Charles James, married to my mother Marian Pruitt. They did live in Washington DC but I do not know for how long. I have some info which is not necessarily reliable, that Charles James could have come from Ohio and that for a time he worked at Freedmen's Hospital in Washington, DC. This has since been torn down. My mother, Marian Pruitt was born in Georgia and before marriage lived with an older sister and her father in Philadelphia. I have no idea how or where my father and mother met, nor where they married. "There is some possibility that my father or his brother, if he had on, served in the army during WWI in the 812th Pioneer Infantry, Camp Grant Illinois. I would greatly appreciate any guidance in pursuing this information. Thank you very much' Charles A. James

    3. Cousin Max James and I are looking for an Edward Victor James in PA. Last night I found an Edward V. James in the 1795 Tax record of Gloucester Co. NJ, in Glcstrtn(?) Twp. I think that is supposed to be Glouchester but not sure. I found this at the LDS Library on microfische. Then I found Edward V. James in the Census of 1810 of Lancaster Co. PA #595 Lancaster Borough. So don't know if this 1795 Tax record would be the one we're looking for, Max. Would sure love to find him in 1790 and 1800 Census records. Still hopeful, Cathy Have a wonderful day! 1. [JAMES-L] Joseph JAMES Clermont Co., OH
    2. Claudia Cox Welton
    3. Hi, Is anyone researching the James family of Clermont Co., OH, or does anyone have any JAMES in nearby counties such as Warren, Hamilton, or Brown in Ohio? I found Joseph JAMES in the 1820 Clermont Co. property owner's list. I am trying to find the family of Abel JAMES b. Abt. 1812 MD (1850 census) or PA (daughter's death certificate). (I have come across a JAMES family in Baltimore during the 1700's that uses the name "Abel" quite a bit) married Martha LEEDT b. Clermont Co., OH d. July 29, 1849 Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH Their children: Anna Maria married George Washington COX, lived in Pleasant Ridge, Hamilton Co., OH Rebecca C. married Henry SWIFT b. England Sarah and Mary, twins Joseph born and died on July 29, 1849 Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH Since this last baby was the only male, and he was named Joseph (could be Abel's father's name), when I came across a Joseph JAMES in nearby Clermont Co. I was wondering . . . and I know, I am grasping at straws. Thanks, Claudia Cox Welton Colleyville, TX
