There were Clendenings who settled in Leeds County along with Leggetts who were also descendants of a Jacobite killed at Culloden who settled in North Carolina before the Revolution, went to wicklow Ireland and then the next generation settled in Leeds County 1817. There at PAC in Ottawa that lists a number of Emmigrants who came as military settlers on a brig Atlanic in 1817 and settled in the Lanark/ Leeds area of Ontario, some as United Empire Loyalists.
