Hello list, I really don't know very much about the Jacobites except what I have read (I can hear the groans already) in Diana Gabaldon's books - (hope I can still leave a message) which just ignited the most wonderful spark in my historically why-wasn't-I-taught-this-at-school mind. ANYWAY, I have plenty of Scots ancestry and rather than bore you with heaps of family clatter I just wondered whether there was a list of family names available of the Scots involved in the uprisings. In particular I'm interested in the name McLoughlan (and also Cuthill) and whether they may have been involved in anything. I think my McLoughlans may have quick-tailed-it out of Scotland and fled to Ireland. Is there a site I can go too, or could SKS point me in the right direction of Jacobite everything.
