My GGG Grandfather Alfred or Alford Jackson was b. 1814 in NC within 5 miles of the VA line. He was orphaned at an early age and was raised by an unknown cousin. He possibly spent some time in Wake Co before traveling to Al & then to MS by early 1830's. He ran away from his cousin at age 16. His census information indicates both his parents were also born in NC. By process of elimination I'm trying to refine the search for his parents.
