My great great grandfather was born in South Carolina in 1830. I have information from Georgia ahat saids her was born in Edgefield, but I haven't been able to prove it. The same Georgia information has his name as James Edward Jackson, but the census's (Alabama 1850 and 1860) have him listed as John. I do realize that theses names were interchanged quite often. This is what makes the search so hard. I asumme he had silbings, as no one back then had only one child, i just can't find them. I hope your information can lead me some sort of new direction.
