His name was Andrew W. Jackson born in York County, SC abt 1810-1815. His wife was Messina Adaline Cowan. In the 1850 census they had only been married about 1 year. I know all about her family but nothing about his. I just can't put it together. In 1860 census York Co SC he and his wife and children were listed and then the story went that they left in a covered wagon and went to Illinois ( not sure why--did they have relatives there or getting away from the war) they had one child in Illinois and then traveled by covered wagon floating down the mississippi river and then to Tippah County, Ms. He stated that his father was born in NC--and his mother in VA. I was always told he was related to Pres Andrew Jackson but of course without knowing who his parent where this is hard to prove.
