He was born in San Diego and was retired from Solar Turbines. He served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include daughters, Peggy Bruce of St. Cloud, Minn., Roberta Gantz of Arcadia, Diana Collins of Yuma, Ariz., Kathy Wood of El Cajon and Jody Hurd of Julian; sons, Michael Jackson of Arcadia and Robert Jackson III of San Diego; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
