He married Carmen E. Sharp on 29 Dec 1929 in Dallas, Texas. His father was John J. Jackson, b. 1840 in Kentucky, may have lived in Sterling, Illinois as a child, later served in the Civil War in the 10th Cavalry Illinois, and married to Cora Jane Redlingshafer in Iowa, and died and was buried in Oskaloosa, Iowa in 1925. .
