    1. [JACKSON] Isaac and Ann Jackson lookups
    2. Paul Redden
    3. I just got the book in from the library by Halliday Jackson in 1878 on "The Sesqui- Sentennial Gathering of the descendants of Isaac and Ann Jackson at Harmony Grove, Chester Co., PA with an Extensive Genealogy" I can do lookups while I have it this week. Isaac, b. 1665, was the son of Anthony Jackson of Ireland. Isaac and Ann were married in Oldcastle and the marriage is recorded in the Minutes of the Carlow MM in Ireland. A transcript of the Certificate is in the book. My printer is down so after I send it back It will be about a week before my new printer arrives and I can print a copy out and do lookups again. I can still do a lookup in my book on the descendants of Ephraim and Rachel (newlin) Jackson. I also have copies right now on the Sharpless family book and three Welsh Quaker books for PA including a general one on the Welsh in PA, one specifically on Gwynedd Township in Montgomery, Co., PA and one on Marion Township in the Welsh Tract in Montgomery Co., PA. I can do lookups in those as well. If you have Quaker Jackson Ancestors you probably have Quaker Ancestors from Wales as well. Paul Redden http://stores.ebay.com/YesterbooksHistoryAndGenealogy

    3. This book discusses Isaac's father Anthony and uncle Richard who migrated from Lancashire England to Ireland in 1649. It states that nothing was known (at that time) of their ancestry but the Quaker records have a lot of information on them and their descendants. Richard was in the Parlimentary Army and this may have been the reason for the move out of England. Both Anthony and Richard quckly became associated in religious fellowship with William Edmundson, who, in 1653, had become a convert to the doctrins of the Quakers and afterwards an eminent minister amonth them. They appeared to have been persecuted for their beliefs and moved several times before the descendants finally emigrated to America in the 1700's. Richard, the eldest of the two, is listed as "Being convinced of God's everlasting Truth about the year 1654" and was apparently imprisoned for it at least once. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Redden" <PaulRedden@hotmail.com> To: <JACKSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 22, 2004 1:35 AM Subject: [JACKSON] Isaac and Ann Jackson lookups > I just got the book in from the library by Halliday Jackson in 1878 on "The Sesqui- Sentennial Gathering of the descendants of Isaac and Ann Jackson at Harmony Grove, Chester Co., PA with an Extensive Genealogy" I can do lookups while I have it this week.
