I have a copy of Norton's History of Knox County, Ohio from 1779 to 1862. There are several Jackson's and Johnson's listed unfortunately it was written before your Horace and Mary Etta were born so is not of much help. It may have their parents or grandparents though if you eventually trace back that far. I plan on getting a book on the Family History of Michael Jackson written by Horace Mortimer Jackson in 1909. This might have some information (based on the similarity of the name), email me in a couple of weeks when it is due in and I can do some lookups for you.
