    1. Mary Law Jackson -- a complete mystery
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Jackson, Tompkins, Thomas Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Xgk.2ACEB/7940 Message Board Post: High guys. This is unlikely to lend me any immediate results, as I have such little information to give you, and Jackson is a very common surname. I'll do my best. If somebody sees this message and has ideas, please e-mail me at: jeremy@nativesouth.org. I am looking for any and all information about Mary Law Jackson, a Native -- probably Muskogee, but I could be wrong -- woman who lived sometime before 1909 and the next few years (when her youngest daughter and son were born). After that, I'm not sure. Mary Law Jackson married a man (seemingly a white man) named John Christopher Breckinridge Lane Thomas. John died around 1914, but I have no idea when he was born, which is curious, considering that his apparent ancestors, up to a few generations back, have full birth dates, etc., and well-documented information. That, in itself, makes me wonder about John, but I'll digress on the subject. John and Mary Law Jackson had four children: 1. John Thomas (born 1904) 2. Mitchell Thomas (birthdate unknown) 3. Mary Samantha Thomas (my ancestor -- born 1909 Jan 24 in Gilchrist County, FL) 4. William (Willie) Thomas (birthdate unknown) Her daughter, Mary Samantha Thomas, married William Benjamin Tompkins (married 1924 Apr 6 in Lowdnes County, GA), and thus, we get Martha Louise Tompkins (born Mar 4, 1926)... Hm... ;-) (Well, Mary was apparently a teenage bride with a baby born out of wedlock. Interesting! ^_^ Hehe...) If anybody has any information or ideas for me, please let me know. I am sure that I am likely going to have to go search old courthouse records, etc., to see what I might be able to find, but it would be very helpful to know where Mary Law Jackson hailed from. Thanks, JNE
