However, I don't know who Jarret's wife was. Missouri died back before the family came to Texas. One of her daughters, Ann Savannah, also died there. Another daughter, Georgia, had already died when they left for Texas or she did not come. The Jacksons came to Texas about 1890 and settled at Gonzales County originally. Braddock and Avie and some family had already come to Texas and were at Freestone County when they died. There is a book "The Story Uncle Minyard Told." written by Davis Blake Carter. Uncle Minyard was the youngest of Braddock and Avey's children. He tells the Harriss story as they started out in Virgina, went to NC then to SC, then to Alabama and then on to Texas. It is told in story book fashion but it gives details of the Harriss families trek across the South. It was written by Davis Blake Carter who was on the staff of the Univ of Texas. I managed to get a copy from Amazon.Com and I had a housefire. ! The book wasn't damaged but it was on the floor in the apartment I was staying at temporarily and got damaged when a water pipe broke behind the wall. It is still readable but not too pretty. All of Isaac's & Missouri's children were born in Alabama, Francis Marion(Poss)born June 15, 1851, died Gonzales County Texas September 13, 1919. His first two wives were sisters. He had children by all 3 marriages and one, the last I heard, is still living. Mary Isabel (Mammie) born December 26,1860 died in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas March 7, 1936. She had been married to a Riddick in Alabama but was married to John Francis Roberts when they came to Texas. Some of their children were born in Alabama and some in Gonzales County. Roxie Catherine Jackson(my great grandmother) married John Clark(e) Tomlin 1879 in Alabama and had one child, my grandfather, Roy Laitten Tomlin born June 29, 1881. John Clark(e) Tomlin died when Roy was a small boy and Roxie married R. Conner in Macon County, Alabama in 1888. She had 2 children by Conner, Zelmon Walter and Savannah. Henery Delilah (Dollie was born August 5, 1866. She married Nathan POwell Roberts. I don't believe she had any children. Missouri T. Hickerson Jackson born February 12, 1869 died February 11, 1943 in San Antonio, She never married. They called her Aunt T. I have been told they are not sure if the T stood for Texas or Tennessee. Georgia also married a Roberts. My grandfather, Roy Tomlin, was one of 6 men to die from an oil refinery explosion at Magnolia Refinery(now Exxon Mobil) in Beaumont in 1920.
