Jackson, 80, retired Elk Grove rancher who was a child member of the REd Horn train, an ox team party that crossed the plains in the early days, died yesterday of pneumonia in Sacramento. Jackson had been ill less thatn one week and death came at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Lucy Sehlmeyer, where he made his home. His parents settled in Elk Grove in 1862 and Jackson had resided in this district the greater part of his life, being an active member of the local Grange. Two sons, Harry J. Jackson and Charles L Jackson, and a brother, M.E. Jackson are Sacramentans. Another daughter, Mrs. Hazel Sadler resides in Santa Barbara and a sister, Mrs. Nannie French, lives in Ventura. His wife, Kattie C. Jackson died about seven years ago. Burial will be at Elk Grove Masonic Cemetery. Sacramento Bee, 12/4/1932
