He died between 1812 & 1855 depending on which tree you look at. His place of death is listed in a number of different states. He lived in Surry Co. N.C. much of the time. He had at least 3 wives if you believe the info on the various trees. These include Susannah Richardson, Laviner Crouch, & Annis Ligon. It appears to me they are different Reuben Jacksons, and everybody is grabbing at the Oct. 28, 1750 birthdate. I've never seen anything about a divorce from any of his wives. On some of these trees he married again before his earlier wife died. A couple of people have tried to tell me my ancestor is this Reuben born Oct. 28, 1750. The info I have on my Reuben was found in an old county history of Neosho Co. Kansas in a bio on Thomas Jackson. Thomas is a known brother of my ancestor John. The bio states Thomas was born about 1805 in North Carolina. His father was Reub! en Jackson, a veteran of the War of 1812. In 1821 Reuben took his family to Fulton Co. Indiana, but later returned to North Carolina where he died at the age of 105. The history doesn't mention a wife, but have been told by a reliable source she was Annis Ligon, a widow whose name was Jane Annis Dunavant prior to marriage. There is some question as to whether she may have taken her stepfather's name. I've never found anything to support my Reuben living to 105, seems unlikely he'd be going off to war at age 62. DNA shows a close connection with my line & the William Jackson (died 1792) & Margaret Wilson line in Guilford Co. N.C. From what I've been told the connection should be about 1 generation back. That line is known to have come from Chester Co. Pennsylvania. The Reuben Jackson born 1750 parents are usually, but not always, listed as Isaac Jackson & Mary Miller of Chester Co. Pennsylvania. My guess is that my Reuben is likely a nephew of the one born 1750. Anybody! have any info to sort the Reubens out? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
