John is the younger brother of Thomas Graves Coffee who is my g-g-g-g-grandfather. He was named for Capt. Thomas Graves who came to Jamestown in 1608. I am also kin to Stewart Jackson who married Thomas Graves Coffee's daughter Elizabeth Woodson Coffee. The "Woodson" is family name for Dr. John Woodson who came to Jamestown in 1619.
