Why do newbies assume because someone has the same name as a famous person and lived in the same area, it HAS to be kinfolks??? I see time and time again people claiming to be a descendant of Andrew Jackson, because they have one who lived in middle TN in the 1800's. Andrew Jackson had 0 children, as far as anyone knows. Faye, Andrew did have a brother or sister, can't remember which. So is is possible to be a decendant of the family if not direct from Andrew. I have traced my line to Thomas Jackson, but sure not related to Stonewall, well, not that I have found yet. lol My Thomas was born 1800s Tennessee buuuuuuutttt. Tis a funny situation. Another line goes back to Sir Francis Drake but probably not THE Sir Francis. One thing everyone has to have when doing genealogy is a sense of humor. Black sheep and those bones in the closet.
