I have an "Andrew" Jackson, son of William Jackson of Guilford Co., NC - - My Andrew Jackson left NC after the 1800 census and was found within Jackson Co., TN (Middle TN) from 1820-1840 census enumeration. By 1850 he was in Hardeman Co., TN living with his son John Jackson. To answer some of the questions regarding Andrew Jackso (Gen/Pres) - he had two brothers, Robert and Hugh - - both died during the Revolutionary War. Andrew Jackson's father, Andrew, Sr. died shortly prior to his Andrew's birth. Go to the website of The Hermitage, and you will find Andrew Sr.'s known brothers - as well as his father - some say the father of Andrew, Sr. is Dr. Joseph Jackson, others say Hugh Jackson is his father (both of which are in question and neither entirely proven). Ironically, my William Jackson of Guilford Co., NC (who married Margaret Wilson, daughter of Andrew Wilson who was son of Thomas Wilson) was born within the same area that Andrew, Sr. first settled in Berks/Lancaster Co., PA. Elizabeth Hutcheson and two of her sons (Hugh & Andrew - Robert had already died) left the Waxhaw Dist ahead of Gate's march North, to Guilford co., NC - She left Andrew with her sister who then lived within Guilford Co., NC. After the Battle of Guilford Co.Court House, they returned to the Waxhaw Dist. After Andrew's mother and brother, Hugh, died toward the end of the Revolution, Andrew migrated into the same area of NC as where my William lived (Salisbury Dist) There are additional "indications" that my William" is related "somewhere" within the Jackson-Hutchinson-Wilson lines, but do not know how. Was Margaret Wilson Jackson's (wife of my William) mother, Ruth ..?.. (who married Andrew Wilson) a Jackson? Was Margaret's grandmother Eleanor ..?.. a Jackson? Was Elizabeth Hutcheson's mother a Jackson? It is known and proven that the Wilson family also settled in Lancaster County, PA with Andrew Wilson and family migrating w/William Jackson to Guilford Co., NC Was William an unfound brother to Andrew, Sr. (his siblings are still being found and proven)? At this point, I'm just trying to find out is: WHO WAS MY WILLIAM'S FATHER. I have his wife ancestry back two genertions - want to do the same for William! Evyonne evonandrews@sbcglobal.net
