    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: JACKSON / WHITE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Xgk.2ACEB/6734.3.1.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Gee, it's a shame the librarian didn't give you the source of where this information came from. Would be interesting to know, but I guess I will still go by the "proven" genealogy of Andrew and "Stonewall." The following came from the website that I referred to in my previous post. "While the names of Jackson’s forbearers are unclear, information about his descendents is well documented. Andrew and Rachel Jackson had no children of their own. Their adopted son and heir, Andrew Jackson Junior had four sons and one daughter." If their son (Rachel's nephew,) was adopted, then Andrew has no "direct" descendants. http://www.thehermitage.com/jackson/quick_facts/faq/content.htm >>> Andrew Jackson <<< (click on genealogy) http://www.vmi.edu/archives/jackson/tjgenea.html >>>Stonewall ancestors and descendants<<< My g-grandfather, George Washington Jackson b: 1839, MO.(who's mother, grandmother, older sister and 2 brothers,) have been tracked to Nashville, TN., in late 1700's, was nick-named "Stonewall," in later years, but that sure didn't make him "Stonewall." When I was growing up, my mother used to tell me we were descendants of William White of the Mayflower. Well after many years of research, (that is well documented,) I found we are descended from William White, but not the one on the Mayflower. Verify, Verify, Verify and then Verify again! Still searching for info on Benjamin Jackson, b: 1790-1800, NC. Father of: Martha Jane b: 1828, William Andrew b: 1830, James Monroe b: c 1832, all born in TN., Melvina b: 1834, Emily D. b: 1837, George Washington b: 1839 and Lucinda E. b: c 1841. The last 4 all born in MO.
