Am in the process of potentially ordering a Pedigree form handmade family quilt of my mother's Jackson/Lively line. In order to complete seven generations (beginning with my mother and her five sisters (only one now surviving and living in ALA with declining health - will be 90 next birthday) Want to take it to her for Easter - don't know if she'll make it to her birthday. Where a Pegree chart usually starts with only one name - the quilt will show all five sisters with b/d dates where applicable. William JACKSON - 1790 Guilford Co., NC census: 2-0-5 - - Will dated Oct 1792 gives wife, Margaret, son Andrew, and son-in-law Joseph SUMERS. This William had land next to ROSS whose son married one of William's daughters. Andrew married Nancy Bridges in 1795 (after the death of his father) and is shown within the 1800 census of Guilford Co., NC with 2 sons under 5 [John & Jonathan], Andrew and Nancy. Have Andrew covered with census enumerations 1820, 1830, 1840 in Jackson Co., TN and 1850 in Hardeman Co., TN where he died. Cannot find him in 1810, he could well have already been in Jackson Co., TN (1790, 1800 & 1810 enumerations of TN lost) OR he was on the migration trail and missed the census taker. NEED DOCUMENTATION ON (1) year of birth of William (2) surname of wife (3) b/d yrs of Margaret in order to complete the seven generation quilt. Don't have to have all three, but proof of Margaret's surname (marriage record) would be the top priority. I know I have a lot of work to do on William - have found where a William on muster roll for Revolutionary War service, and have already found a posting to where another William died in 1794 within Guilford County claiming this serice. Am going to have to dig deep to find out who is who. Want to get this quilt to my aunt before we lose her. She and my mom were extremely close and both were so very, very interested in the stories, info I have found on their parent's families. (Lost my mom in 2001 and so wanted to go further on the Jackson line, but had to stop because of her fast decline from 1998) Will freely share ALL information I have on my Jackson line to those who feel are connected - have DNA and Y-DNA Print results showing 75% Indo European; 25% Native American; 0% Asian and 0% African. Can anyone help me get this quilt completed for my Aunt Leta? It takes 3 months to have it made. I know this is a busy time of the year, but if anyone has the requested info already within their db, please, please take time to send me an email. BTW, if anyone would like additional info on the quilt, please contact me direct and I'll send you information as to varied patterns avail. Thanks in advance Evyonne Andrews Eddins Fort Worth,Texas evonandrews@sbcglobal.net
Hello, I have just joined the list and so am listing my Jackson Connection. I am descended from Susannah Jackson b.1781 m. James Updegraff. James worked for Susannah's father, Samuel Jackson in his Jackson and Co. Iron Works based in Fayette Co., PA and Monongahela Co., West Virginia. Samuel Jackson moved to Brownsville, Fayette County, PA from Chester County where his grandfather, Ephraim settled after emigrating from Cheshire England. I have a copy of the new reprint of "The Jackson Family, A History of Ephraim Jackson, First Ancestor to come to America and his Descendants, 1694-1960" by Jesse Calvin Cross. Its nearly 400 pages and filled with a lot of good info. If anyone would like lookups please let me know. Paul Redden
