    3. Hi Evyonne, I can't find anything on William in the descendants of Ephraim Jackson who lived in London Grove in the early 1700's. The three Jackson families there were hoplesly intertwined though. I checked Myers "Immigration of the Irish Quakers into Pennsylvania" [1902] Suprisingly it didn't have much on the two Jackson families whos families had settled in Ireland for a generation of two before coming to Pennsylvania. There was a mention of a William Jackson in Londongrove about the right time frame though: "Children of James and Catharine Miller: ... .. 4. Mary, m. Isaac Jackson (son of Thomas), 4 Mo. 11, 1730, and had seven children; they moved to Eno, North Carolina, in 1751. 5. Katharine, b. 1 Mo. [March] 30, 1713, at Timahoe County, Kildare, Ireland; d. 4 Mo. 2, 1781; m. William Jackson, 9 mo. 9, 1733. .. 7. Hannah, m. James Jackson, 8 Mo. 31, 1745. No Issue. .." Interesting enough this James Miller is believed to be the brother of John Miller who's daughter Susannah married Ephraim Jackson's son Joseph (my ancestor). Three of Susannah (Miller) Jackson's daughters married Jackson's from the Irish families. Mary married James Jackson, the son of William and Katherine (Miller) Jackson above. Hannah married James brother Isaac and, ...believe it or not..., Susannah married John Jackson, the son of John and Sarah ([you guessed it] Miller) Jackson. As I said the three Jackson families were hopelessly intertwined in this period. Both books state the mariages, etc. were at the New Garden Monthly Meeting. Although New Garden was not indexed by Hinshaw, there is a book available (and searchable CD) covering many of these records. I haven't unpacked all of my genealogy CD's yet but the book is published by the Genealogical Publishing Company (GPC), and, with several others, is on their partner company, Family Tree Maker,s CD for Church Records of Pennsylvania. Sorry I don't remember the exact titles or CD numbers. GPC also publishes Hinshaw's encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy which is on a seperate CD from Family Tree Maker. 3. Does anyone happen to know if the Guilford Co., NC Jackson families were related to the Jacksons that lived near Hillsborough, NC in present day Orange County? I am actually looking for a Frances Jackson who married John Holt around 1770 probably in Orange County, NC. They lived just south of Burlington, NC in what is now Alamance County. But there is a distinct possibility that the Jackson family I am trying to find is not related to any NC Jacksons since the Holt family knew a Jackson family when they both lived near present day Madison, VA. In NC, John and Frances Jackson Holt were living next-door to a Colby Jackson at the time of the 1790 census. In any event, John Holt and Frances Jackson Holt along with their children moved to Bedford County, TN in the early 1800s and John and Frances died there in the mid-1820s. 3. Thank you so much for your endeavors Paul - - Have ordered FTM's "The Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy, 1750-1930 (Hinshaw's six volume set) on CD - have already received confirmation of shipment - it has yet to arrive - probably caught up in Christmas mail. Next move is to order land survey map of Guilford County, NC, and call GPC and order Myers "Immigration of the Irish Quakers into Pennsylvania" [1902] - will also check with their sister company - Clearfield PC. - try to add to my library as I pick up new areas, and it's paid off with other lines. I heavily suspect that William may well be the son of Isaac or possibly a Samuel who may well be a brother to Isaac. Talk about being "intertwined" - your mention of Isaac and Mary Jackson moving to Eno, North Carolina in 1751 - checked out my "right hand" geographical site to find location of cities, counties, etc....: http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form , and found that Eno, North Carolina is located in Orange County, Hillsborough District, North Carolina. Guilford County, NC was carved from Orange and Rowan Counties in 1770. I heavily suspect that the Jacksons living within Orange, Guilford, Rowan, and Randolph counties NC are fairly closely related in some way. If my "gut feeling" is right - betcha that if Samuel is brother to Isaac, they named their children with same given names........Looks like I'm going to have to get out my "stick 'ems" and "map 'em all out". Major problem in Guilford County, NC is that there was possibly another William Jackson living there who died about April of 1794 (two years after my William Jackson died. Within the 1800 census of Guilford Co., NC there were two Joseph Jacksons within the census with one living next door to my Andrew Jackson. Have already proven that Andrew had brothers: William, John and possibly Samuel with sisters: Omaha, and Mary. From the 1790 census William had 5 females within the household - one would be Andrew's wife, Nancy, William's wife, Margaret + 2-3 more females, one being probably Omaha - Mary was already married - so who were the other two? Within the 1820 census of Jackson County, TN, Andrew, William, John, and Samuel were all living next door to each other. There was a Samuel who also migrated to Hardeman County, TN where Andrew died in the late 1850s. Family given names for several generations from Andrew were: Andrew,William, James, John, Jonathan, Daniel, Benjamin, amongst others. Known sons of Andrew..... John, Jonathan, Richard, Andrew, Newell, George "Wash" Washington, Thomas, Singleton (all from Bible Records - could be more - still trying to separate Andrew's children from his grandchildren within the Bible Record) You've thrown me for a loop by your mention of marriage dates...i.e. "Katharine, b. 1 Mo. [March] 30, 1713, at Timahoe County, Kildare, Ireland; d. 4 Mo. 2, 1781; m. William Jackson, 9 mo. 9, 1733". Am "sorta" familiar with the Julian and Gregorian Calendars and switch from Julian to Gregorian calendar about 1st quarter 1500's, but your 1 Mo. [March], etc has thrown me - I knew January wasn't the first month, but didn't realize I was not one but two months off of today's standard. Am I interpreting it right? Again, thank you for your input, including the info within second message regarding the Wilson family - VERY HELPFUL! Evyonne Cowtown (Ft. Worth) TX Rodeo time starts in 'bout 2 wks - come on down! ======================================================= Subject: Re: [JACKSON] Re: William Jackson d. 1792 Guilford Co., NC > Hi Evyonne, > > I can't find anything on William in the descendants of Ephraim Jackson who > lived in London Grove in the early 1700's.
