    3. I have found some information on the Irish Jackson's in Myers book, it is close to what I had remembered. From the section on New Garden Monthly Meeting. [note, this is also the name of the meeting in Guilford, NC.] " Isaac Jackson and wife, received 9 Mo. 10, 1725, dated 1 Mo. [March] 28, 1725 from Carlow Montlyly Meeting, County Carlow, Ireland. Anthony Jackson, born at Eccleston, Parish of St. Michael, Lancashire, England, removed, in 1649, with his elder brother, Richard Kackson, sometime soldier in the Parliamentarhy Army, and settled at Lurgan, County Armagh, Ireland. Here they were among the first converts lto Quakerism in Ireland. In 1655 they removed to Cavan, where Anthony probably resided the remainder of his life. In 1670, and as late as 1681, he is mentioned in Besse as suffering persecution and imprisonment for non-payment of tithes [to the church of england that he didn't attend - Paul]. Isaac Jackson (1665-1750), son of Anthony, was married 2 Mo. 29, 1696 [April],at Oldcastle Mtg., Co. Meath, to Ann Evans, daughter of Rowland Evans, of Balliloing, Co. Wicklow. After residing for some years at Oldcastle and Clonerany, Co. Wexford, they removed, about 1706-7, to Ballytore, Co. Kildare. From here they removed to Pennsylvania, taking passage at Dublin on the Sizargh, and reached New Castle, on Delaware, 9 Mo. 11, 1725. They proceeded at once from New Castle to the home of a son-in-law, Jeremiah Starr, who had married a daughter, Rebecca Jackson, at Ballytore, 11 Mo. 10, 1716 and had settled in London Grove Twp., Chester Co. An extended record of the descendants of Isaac Jackson's ten children will be found in Halliday Jackson's "Jackson Family" and in History of Chester County, p. 610." I am assuming that he is talking about Futhey and Cope's "History of Chester County" which was published in 1881. Halliday Jackson's "Jackson Family" was published in 1878. With some further research I have found a copy of Halliday Jackson's book that I can make reprints of if anyone is interested. the full title is "Proceedings of the Sesqui-Centennial Gathering of the Descendants of Isacc [sic] and Ann Jackson at Harmony Grove, Chester County. 3. Uh Oh! Now it's TWO Isaac Jacksons in the same spot! one son of Thoma and now one son of Anthony! Do know our DNA results were checked against those of earliest Richard Jackson - no match - Will have to go with Isaac or possibly Samuel, sons of Thomas (if that be out line). Paul - am very interested in reprints of some of the books you mentioned - will send separate email with more details. 1. [JACKSON] Re: Irish Jackson's --reprints.
    2. Paul Redden
    3. I believe Thomas and Anthony were related. If I remember correctly, Thomas was either a descendant of either Anthony or his brother Richard. Anthony and Richard never came to America. It was their children. Don't quote me on this as I don't have any sources handy but I think the three Jackson Immigrants to early Chester County were Isaac, son of Anthony; Thomas, son of Richard (ancestors of President Andrew, and General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson and the third being my ancestor, the (probably unrelated) Ephraim Jackson whose ancestors are outlined in Cross's book which I already have copies available for $31 (420 pages) If your DNA was checked against that of Richard you probably are not descended from his brother Anthony either, Although infidelity back then was more common that people tend to think. My reprints are $10 plus 5 cents a page ( 7 cents for large print versions) and unfortunately I don't know how large many of the books are that I listed as I gave you all the information I have. It costs me $10 to borrow a book and takes me a good hour of work or more for each 100 pages to do the prep work assuming everything is OK. Of course it took me 6 months to write all of the computer software to allow me to do the work that fast (and thus inexpensively) It would cost any other company about $50,000 to duplicate the software. All my years as an engineer developing software for Army Attack Helicopter cockpits was finally put to good use :-) Just goes to show that sometimes, if you get laid off, its better to use what you've learned to make your own way and do what you love. I am not sure if GPC has the Myers book but I know Herritage Books does for $35.50 in paperback. Herritage Books reprints are similar to mine but, like GPC, use more of a medium level production run. They specialize in books that they feel confident they can sell several hundred copies of and thus spread the production costs among all of those books. They thus pay up front to have the pre production work done the conventional way and then print hundreds of copies at a time on an offset printing press and store them until they sell. My specialty is all the tens of thousands of books that may have only had 100 to 1000 books printed originally and reprint versions would be too expensive printed the conventional way. I do all the pre processing myself using my own techniques and software and print the books using the latest "Book-On-Demand" printing techinques so I don't have to buy so many copies at a time. The printing and binding acutally costs me about twice as much as there is more labor, but since the other costs are lower, and there are no inventory costs, I can keep the prices for the books down. Typically, even keeping prices low, I can break even with about 5 copies and anything more than that goes to buying more rare genealogy books to save and reprint. The Myers book is out of copyright so I can technically copy it. It is, however available elsewhere as it is a very popular and useful book. My price would come to between $34 and $35 which is only slightly lower than Heritage Books version. Technically there is not much of a difference as they are both about the same size and both paperbacks with a laminated cover. I am able to print 8 by 10 inch large print versions for a little more to cover the extra paper and ink though. Heritage Books process requires all copies to be the same.
