Surnames: Jackson, Parker, Payne, Winner, Booton, Dudley Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Xgk.2ACEB/7705 Message Board Post: A great-great uncle of mine by marriage was very proud of the fact that he was a cousin of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. This great-great uncle, William M. Jackso, was born in 1854. I don't know where he was born, but he married my Great-Great Aunt Mary Ellen Parker, probably in Illinois as that is where she grew up. She was born about Aug. 8, 1857, 1858, or 1859 either in Kentucky where my Great-Great Grandmother, Margaret Ann (Parker) Dudley, and other older siblings were born, or Illinois where the family was living in 1860, according to the 1860 Pike Co., Illinois census. Aunt Mary's parents were Joseph and Elizabeth (Warrington) Parker. Aunt Mary and Uncle Will had six children: Olive, Ray, May, Myrtle, Emily, and Ellis. Olive was married to a man surnamed Winner and had, at least, two children, one named Mariedith. Ray was married to a woman named Lucille. Myrtle was married to Leslie Booton. Emily was married to a Methodist minister, Jim Payne, who married my parents. They had a daughter named Audrey (Payne) Rhea Fitch, who had two children. The son, I believe, was also a minister. Ellis died in 1907 at age 16. Uncle Will died in 1928, probably in New Canton, Pike Co., IL and is buried in a Brown Cemetery. Aunt Mary died in 1930, probably during the Summer, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Does anyone know exactly how Uncle Will was related to Stonewall Jackson? First cousin? Third cousin twice removed? And who Uncle Will's parents were? And where Uncle Will was born? Also, did Uncle Will, who was 20 years younger than Stonewall, ever meet his famous cousin? Margaret
