Don't believe this is the same Jackson, but my father, Joseph G. Jackson, was born in Dalton-in-Furness in 1920. I have quite a few of this line with sources and citations attached. I hit a brick wall with Peter Jackson, born Cockerham c. 1820, my gr gr grandfather (possibly 1817 according to records I found). He did not list his father on his marriage certificate, so I've had difficulty going back any farther than him on that side of the family, my paternal grandfather's side. Peter had a son, Thomas, b. 1853, but died 1854. However, there seems to be another John Jackson, b. c 1750 on my paternal grandmother's side, following line of parents of Henry Coward. I do most of my genealogy during summer months, as I am a teacher and have more time then. Feel free to browse it to see if anything connects to you.
