    3. This letter appears to conflate two different Churchwell Jacksons, father and son. One indeed shows up in NC about the time of the Revolution and I have found his Revolutionary War Pension Application. The son was in the War of 1812. The Churchwell who married Margaret Coffelt is the younger one. My husband descends from this line through Lindsay (aka Linza). The family did indeed settle in Illinois, first in Pope County and later Williamson County. I would like to make contact to share information. My impression is that the whole family made this move. There Churchwell Jackson met and married Miss Marguerite Coffell. Sometime after which they moved to Winchester, Tenn. of this union there was born G.W. Jackson, your grandfather, who was the older child, then James, Daniel, Preston,Lindsay, John-Henry, Criss, Wilson, Marguerite and Mary. > > There is more to the letter but this part relates to churchwell jackson some of the spelling is different then what I have found. For instance Coffell is Coffelt. G.W. Jackson is I assume is George Washington Jackson born in 1818. I am new to this, so I thought I would share this hoping to get some feedback. > > Important Note: > The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
