Maybe just neighbors. I believe this is the Harvey Howton b. 1825 in Hopkins, Kentucky, United States (married Mary Galloway b. 1829). Elizabeth Jackson's (1792-1847) granddaughter Elizabeth Louvina Ross (1836-1916) married James Henry Howton, Jr. (1829-1901). They are my 2nd great grandparents.
