Author: aymeebl Surnames: Moon, Jackson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.jackson/14256/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Absalom Jackson's will, dated 8/29/1838 in Chambers County, GA, states that his wife Abigal and family who are currently living with them are to "be supported by Hideans and Richard Moon so long as my wife Abigal lives or remains a widow..." My copy of this will is type-written, Hideans might not be spelled correctly. My question is, does anyone have any information on Hideans and Richard Moon? and what connection they could possibly have to this Jackson family? WHY WOULD HE APPOINT TWO OTHER MEN TO SUPPORT HIS WIFE AND YOUNG CHILDREN WHO ARE STILL AT HOME??? Children listed on the will are Phebe (who possibly married William Thompson in 1844), Abigal (married William C. Stephens in 1842 and died in Tallapoosa, AL 1885), and Mary (possibly married Royal F. Tucker 1844). All marriages were in Chambers County, AL, and I think I've traced all 3 into Tallapoosa County. Phebe may have gone to Fayette County, AL. I believe there was one other daughter named Palmira who married Robert P. Miles in 1833 in Meriwether county, GA where the family was living at the time. Absalom is said to have traveled from Baldwin, Jones, Meriwether counties of GA and then to Chambers County, AL where he died. It is also thought his wife was related to Robert and Thomas Jefferson Brooks. Other names on this will are Thomas Jefferson Brooks, Thompson Eeves?, Edmond Jackson, Richmond Gordon, John F. Sharp, and Richmond Gordon. At the time of the will he did own 2 "forty-acre lots of sand in the Cherrokee County in Georgia" that I believe he owned with Thomas Jefferson Brooks. Any information or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
