Hugh was born July 5, 1921, in Fort Wayne, Ind., a son of the late Ruth and Hugh Jackson. He worked for A&P Retail Promotions at Giant Eagle. He and his late wife, Anna, delivered Meals on Wheels to senior shut-ins. He was on the church council at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Duquesne for 35 years, was involved with the Republican Party of Duquesne for 40 years and served as president of the National Steel Old Timers Foundation. Hugh was also an avid gardener. He is survived by his son, Richard (Beverly) Jackson; daughter, Laura (Daniel) DeCecco; grandchildren, Michelle, Denise, Richard Jr., Lisa and Derick; five great-grandchildren; brothers, James Jackson, Donald Jackson and Albert Jackson; sisters, Virginia Creek and Laura Schey; and many nieces and nephews. Hugh was predeceased by his daughter, Beverly Christopher. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the JEFFERSO! N MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, where a service will be held at 12:30 a.m. Friday. Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
