One sister who married the Crawford came first and the other girls with their husband's followed. I do know that Andrew Jackson's father was Hugh Jackson. He remained in Ireland and after Andrew's father and mother were both death Andrew recived an inheritance from his grandfather and spent it all on gambling and horse racing. After that he worked under a friend that was a lawyer and became a very good country lawyer. If you wanted to find out about the Jackson side you should go to a site like Ancestry that has Irish records or write to Ireland and ask someone to help you research the family.The problem with most of the books is that most people have little on his family. I have contacted the Hermatiage and their historians and they have less than I do. I have also spoken with a AJ historian at a University that has all of Andrew Jackson's paper, letters and the Walkup papers and he does! n't know more than I do. Keep looking and I will do a little extra searching in the next couple of weeks and see if I see anything I didn't notice before as I never paid much attention to the Jackson's as I was searching for my Leslie's(lesly) family and I knew they were related from Andrew Jackson Books and from authors who mentioned them.
