His death certificate shows his parents as 'unknown', however Census Recrds show his father was born in Kentucky. My grandfather's race shows 'mulatto'. He died March 7, 1919 in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois and is buried at the Lincoln Cemetary in an unmarked grave. He married Helena Cadwallader in 1875 in St. Louis, Missouri. Helena Cadwallader was Black. Louisa Rambo, my great grandfather William PH daughter was living with grandparents and shows up in the 1880 Census Records in St. Louis, Missouri living with Grandparents Washington and Louisa Kirk. In addition, another grandchild a Monroe Cadwallader appears in this census as well as a Wyatt Kirk, son of Washington and Louisa Kirk. He was a horse trainer/horseman. Does this ring any bells? George's son William PH Rambeaux, is my great grandfather and worked at the Topeka Kansas Railway Station. He operated a lunch room called the Pink Tea Lunchroom located at 415 Holliday. My great grandfather William PH also had name variations...Wilson P., William P., William H., William P.H., Wilson P.H. and last name variations of Rambo, Rambeau, Rambeaux. William PH married Ruth Henderson and their son, Archie Rambeau is my Grandfather. He and my grandmother, Dorothy Annette McMichael attended Coffeyville High School in Kansas. William Patterson Hunt Rambeaux then divorced Ruth Henderson while Archie, her son was an infant and moved to Red Bluff, Nebraska and married Ruby Hannah. They had the following children: Roger William Rambeaux, born apprx 1908 and Garnet Irene Rambeaux. Garnet Irene Rambeaux was married to a R.W. Montgomery at the time of my grandfather's death in 1940 and lived in Denver, Colorado. I believe Roger went by 'William' and Garnet went by 'Irene'. William PH brother Tex aka Joseph Milton Rambeaux of Topeka, Ks. Tex operated a place called 'The Round Up'. My cousins and I have hit a brick wall and need help finding out who the parents of George Rambo and Helena Cadwallader were. Thank you. xox Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
