    1. [JACKSON] Jacksons of Waterford & Cork
    2. Sharon Oddie Brown
    3. I have assembled and posted a new tree that joins two trees that were previously separate. As well, new records have been added. Thanks to those who helped on this - much appreciated. SEE: http://www.thesilverbowl.com/familytree/JACKSONs-Waterford&Cork.html Let me know if anything is amiss - broken links, more information to be added, errors - you name it. I can only correct things when I see them. Thanks, Sharon PS Check out the two Mary WALLIS marriages - one to a George JACKSON and one to a Thomas JACKSON - both brothers. Did Burke's make a mistake, or did the same woman marry two brothers - possibly after being widowed by the first. -- Sharon Oddie Brown, Roberts Creek, BC, Canada. 1. [JACKSON] New Jackson stories & 400 more names
    2. Sharon Oddie Brown
    3. I have just added more than 400 new names to my family tree at Rootsweb. My focus this time is the line of Jacksons who started in Co. Meath, and then moved to Ballybay, Co. Monaghan in the mid 1700s. From there, many of them moved to America. They parked for periods of time in just about every county in Ireland, and married people from wherever they happened to land. I have written a blog to intorduce you to them and it contains links at the bottom to all the new material on both my web site and at Rootsweb. SEE: http://sharonoddiebrown.blogspot.com/2011/07/jackson-connexion.html The collateral lines of this lot have also introduced some promising leads with respect to connections with BOYDs, BROWNEs and others who lived in Armagh, Tyrone, Fermanagh, Monaghan, Cavan and Down. As I said, they did get around. Enjoy - and as always let me know about my mistakes. I often leave a few in my wake. Sharon Oddie Brown -- Sharon Oddie Brown, Roberts Creek, BC, Canada. Their trail quckly grows cold. This is what I have. Father of David Clemmons Jackson was David Johnathon Jackson of Montford County, Kentucky. That is all I have on the father. No dates of birth, marriage or death. Birth date of David Clemmons is Dec 1823, birth day unknown.Birth location is Indiana. Died 19 Nov 1909 McCook, Red Willow, Nebraska, buried 20 Nov 1909 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mccook, Red Willow, Nebraska He moved about a bit. Blackburn history states he was a miller. Locations where he lived, Washington Township, Brown County, Indiana 1850, Jackson Townshiop, Brown County, Indiana in 1860, Nixon, Harp Township, Dewitt County, Illinois in 1860, taken from the census. Blackburn history states all the Jacksons and children moved to Hebron, Thayer County, Nebraska and homesteaded there. Later on, half of the family moved to Kansas. 1890 to 1909: Lived with his daugther to the time of his death in Decatur, Kansas.Son in law was Robert David Wilson and Nancy E Blackburn Jackson Wife: Hannah Blackburn. We think Hannah's dad was Benjamin Franklin Blackburn. There are several Benjamin Franklin Blackburns I have found, but I was not able to confirm which one was her father. Hannahs mom is Mary Hartley and I believe that Mary's parents were Thomas Hartely and Elizabeth Williams. Going back.. I will e-mail you a family group sheet to your e-mail on the decendents of David Clemmons and Hannah Blackburn. Author: tucgig Surnames: Jackson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.jackson/3370.3395.3467/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Dear Rebecca- I'm going to send you the same information I sent Paulette earlier today because it certainly looks to me as if we're related. My grandfather was Robert Ellsworth Jackson (appr. 1926); the first information I know of him was that he met my grandmother (Louise Suzanne Stevens) in the Indiana Soldier's and Sailor's Children's Home where he was placed with his siblings in 1930 (Lake refers to Lake County): JACKSON ROBERT ELLSWORTH LAKE 1930 JACKSON LOIS HELEN LAKE 1930 JACKSON JOHNNIE LOUISE LAKE 1930 JACKSON EVELYN PAUL LAKE 1930 (http://www.ai.org/serv/icpr_issoh) I later found a census record (also from 1930) on Ancestry.com that showed him listed with mostly the same siblings (Lois H., 8; Evelyn P., 6; Louise J., 5; and Robert E., 3) as the son of Cecil P. Jackson (born appr. 1899), although no wife was listed. I also found a 1910 census record for Cecil which lists his mother A Eupha D. Chewning; it appears Ira S. Chewning was now the step-father of Cecil (and Maggie and Clyde). On Family Search, I discovered that before marrying Robert A. Jackson, she had been born Eupha D. Warren: Eupha D Jackson United States Census, 1900 birth: Feb 1876 -Tennessee residence: 1900 -Buffalo Township, Craighead, Arkansas spouse: Robt A Jackson children: Maggie L Jackson, Serell P Jackson Eupha D. Warren United States Census, 1880 birth: 1876 -Tennessee, United States residence: 1880 -District 3, Humphreys, Tennessee parents: Zeke Warren, Mararet A. Warren I'm afraid I don't know much more about Robert E. Jackson except that he was of Cherokee descent and died while my father was relatively young, leaving my grandmother to raise their 3 sons. I appear to be coming late to this post; if you've any new information, I'd love to know. BTW- Nice to meet you cousins :D Take care, Chelle Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [JACKSON] New Jackson Family Trees
    2. Sharon Oddie Brown
    3. I have recently focused on the 17th & 18th century English settlers in Ireland, in particular JACKSONs. Their families moved about and settled in virtually every county in Ireland. Often they used Ireland as a stepping stone to America, Canada, Australia or anywhere else they saw greener pastures. I have parked them all in about half a dozen trees, and posted them to my web site. They helped me see to see new links between Carlow and Tyrone, for example, that I would not have otherwise known about. Likely readers will notice others. I have just posted the third of three pieces that I did on my blog about this work. For those of you who want to cut to the chase and just get the links to all the new records I have posted as a result, just click on the third one. If my process interests you as well, check out the first two as well: The first is about my experiences of learning from family crests: http://sharonoddiebrown.blogspot.com/2011/07/crests-and-coats-of-arms-1st-in-small.html The second focuses on the Red Hand of Ulster and the red hand in baronial crests (hint: not the same) http://sharonoddiebrown.blogspot.com/2011/07/arms-and-red-hand-of-ulster-2nd-in.html The third focuses on the new trees that I have cobbled together http://sharonoddiebrown.blogspot.com/2011/07/sheldrake-and-other-elements-3rd-in.html As always, there will be more to learn. I will update the pages as I go. Let me know if you spot errors. It is how I learn. Enjoy, Sharon PS I have also updated my database at rootsweb - it is called silverbowl . There are now more than 9,700 records, most of which are reasonably documented. -- Sharon Oddie Brown, Roberts Creek, BC, Canada. History Project: www.thesilverbowl.com
