Yes it makes sense and will fill in many blanks, I am sure. Yes, the DNA is rather intriguing. I had no idea that this doesn't happen often. The people genealogical society, here in Santa Barbara,California, thought I was kidding when I asked about matching 36 out of 36 with 2 other lines. Now they use my story all the time, when talking about DNA. It would be so exciting to actually have the connection between us, with all blanks filled. It might make a bigger impression on someone who is wondering weather to do it or not. Gwen Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The other lines and mine connect at Daniel Jackson, born 1778 in Virgina. We each descend from a different son. They have connected themselves to Daniel, but I haven't. I have only connected to them via DNA. I have a gap between my great great grandpa James Edward Jackson, estimated birth 1830 in SC I believe, and Daniel. I believe I descend from either Daniels son John or Joseph, as these are names that run down through a few generations. If you have any thing that could help me, I would so appreciate it. He stated in the 1870 Census his parents were from Virginia. There was also a William Jackson living next to him in 1870 who was 2 years older than Henry Clay...possibly a brother. Henry Clay was married 3 times: Nancy Sharpe, Sarah Ann Hayes and Sarah Elizabeth Criswell. I think his father might have been a Henry Jackson B.1786 in VA and died in the 1850's in Muhlenberg County Ky. I have no proof of this. I have verbal confirmation from his 96 year old grandson that the family was originally from VA. Does anyone have Henry Clay and William Jackson listed in their records? If we are on the right track, please contact, will help all I can. I think his father or brother was John Matthews who married Matilda Briggs, Jones Co GA in 1820. They made their way down to Alabama, then to Mississippi. Family tradition also says Matilda claim John Matthews was related to Andrew Jackson.?? John Matthews did fight in the war of 1812. Family tradition says that Andrew Jackson came thru GA and John left with him; to go fight. Has anyone found any Jackson/Matthews connection? or maybe Donaldson/Matthews connection? I think John Coffee married a sister to Rachael Donadlson, wife to Andrew Jackson. Any help would be appreciated!
